Orange boosts broadband to 20Mbps

22 Oct 2009

British mobile network operator Orange UK has updated all of its fixed line broadband service packages to offer downlink speeds of up to 20Mbps using ADSL2+ technology, ISPreview reports. The new higher speeds only apply to the operators’ local loop unbundled (LLU) customers, and the move comes as Orange looks to halt the decline of its is broadband subscriber base; according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, in the twelve months to June 2009 the telco shed more than 100,000 high speed internet customers.
