Thailand’s National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has agreed to a reserve price of THB10 billion (USD300 million) for a 3G licence with 10MHz of 2100MHz spectrum in the upcoming auction scheduled for December, reports the Bangkok Post. Choochart Promprasit, the NTC chairman, said the regulator’s board decided at a meeting on Wednesday that THB10 billion would be an appropriate price for each of three 10MHz licences on offer, whilst another for 15MHz would cost ‘slightly more’. The price is subject to final revision but Choochart indicated it would not differ very far from the suggested value. The price is higher than in previous reports which gave a top estimate of THB6.6 billion.
