Govt calls for interest in 2.6GHz spectrum

Colombia’s Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications has begun the process which will end in the award of frequencies in the 2500MHz to 2690MHz (2.6GHz) band. Interested parties have 15 days to send letters of intent to participate in the process, in accordance with Resolution 002/508 dated 8 October 2009. On receipt of the letters, and in accordance with Article 72 of Law No. 1341 of 2009, the ministry will publish the terms and conditions of participation. The 2.6GHz spectrum is suitable for 4G technologies, specifically Long Term Evolution (LTE).
