Vodafone Qatar launches mobile internet

1 Sep 2009

Vodafone Qatar has announced the full commercial launch of mobile internet services, and is offering 300MB of data usage free as a start-up promotion running until the end of September. Following tests begun in July, when it launched its commercial GSM network, the UK-backed cellco has launched mobile internet services for its post-paid ‘Freedom’ subscribers and says it will soon make it available for pre-paid ‘Red’ users. Qatar’s second national telecoms operator also announced a series of web content tie-ups for users of the mobile Vodafone Portal, including the latest news in Arabic and English from the Al Jazeera channel.
