The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has issued a data services licence to Easycall Communication Philippines, allowing it provide nationwide services to healthcare and educational facilities. Business World Online reports Easycall manager Renato R. Martinez as saying: ‘Easycall shall infuse an additional PHP10 million (USD204,000) in paid-up capital and not through a loan, in order to make the communication network viable.’ Last month the company submitted a financial and market feasibility study to support its application to provide broadband services in the Philippines. It plans to offer broadband services to healthcare facilities and educational institutions nationwide, at a minimum speed of 1.5Mbps (download) to be delivered through leased lines and DSL lines.
