Russia’s third largest mobile operator by users, MegaFon, is looking at the possibility of buying up to 5% of shares in rival cellco Vimpelcom on the stock market, reports Reuters quoting the Russian business daily Kommersant. The report quoted two sources close to shareholders of both operators as saying the proposal was on the agenda of MegaFon’s board meeting on 1 July but no decision was made, whilst MegaFon declined to comment.
