Swiss cableco Cablecom has announced that a million households on its network have been upgraded to DOCSIS 3.0, capable of offering download speeds of up to 100Mbps. The Fibre Power upgrade will allow the Liberty Global-owned company to introduce new interactive services such as video- and TV-on-demand and HDTV, as well as other interactive services. Cablecom plans to upgrade a further 300,000 cable households by the end of 2010. It says its network is now 95% fibre.
