Telecom New Zealand has announced that it will launch its 3G ‘XT’ mobile network on 13 May 2009. Telecom CEO Paul Reynolds said the rollout of the UMTS 850MHz platform had progressed extremely well and the network will be operational across the country from launch day. Reynolds added, ‘This will mean world class 3G mobile service is available, for the first time, in 97% of places where Kiwis live and work.’
