Digital Island has signed a deal with Telecom New Zealand to become a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). Digital Island, which supplies telecoms solutions to businesses, will use Telecom’s 2G network to connect to clients but will not gain access to its 3G infrastructure, which Telecom plans to launch in June 2009. Digital Island hopes to offer its customers discounts of up to 20% on current tariffs.
