BCE and MTS Allstream have revealed they are appealing to the country’s federal cabinet to reverse a decision by telecoms regulator the CRTC on providing regulated access to next generation networks (NGNs). The telcos claim the ruling – made in December 2008 – will discourage further investment in NGNs, such as the fibre-to-the-node (FTTN) networks currently being deployed.
