The Indian government has given the green light to the provision of wireless services by mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs). Full details and guidelines are yet to be issued, but it is understood that MVNOs would have to pay about INR1.5 billion (USD30.2 million) for a nationwide entry licence, and annual licence fees would be the same as those paid by network operators.
