ArmenTel seeks uninterrupted internet access via Turkcell

15 Oct 2008

Armenian fixed line and mobile operator ArmenTel, which operates under the Beeline banner, is in talks with Turkey’s Turkcell concerning the possibility of diversifying internet channels to secure uninterrupted communication for Armenia, ArmenTel’s Anush Begloyan told local news agency PanARMENIAN.net. ‘Given the recent regional developments, Armenia often loses access to [the] internet. We intend to establish cooperation with the Turkish operator to resolve this problem and have an additional channel’, she said. An agreement is expected to be signed by the end of this year.
