PLDT to take delivery of ECI broadband access solution

Networking infrastructure solutions provider ECI Telecom has announced that it has signed an agreement for the supply of broadband access solutions to Filipino incumbent operator Philippines Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT). ECI will supply a Multi-Service Access Node (MSAN) central office and other related equipment to support PLDT’s nationwide expansion of high speed internet DSL services for both business and residential customers. In a statement the equipment vendor said the deployment would provide PLDT with a future-proof MSAN platform facilitating a smooth upgrade path to a next generation network (NGN) as it looks to roll out new services such as IPTV and VoIP.
