Reliance Communications (RCOM) has announced it will invest approximately USD3 billion on the rollout of its new GSM network, local news source Sify Broadband is reporting. RCOM is targeting a launch for its pan-Indian GSM operations in November 2008, initially planning to offer services in 250 of the larger cities in the country, with services expected to expand over the next 18 months; the operator is aiming for its GSM network to match its existing CDMA infrastructure by the end of 2009.
