Claro extends 3G to Minas Gerais

Brazilian cellco Telecom Americas, which operates under the Claro brand, has launched 3G services in Minas Gerais state, writes BNamericas citing a company statement. Coverage includes the state capital Belo Horizonte, Contagem and Betim; the company expects to increase coverage to over 30 municipalities in the state.

Claro currently offers 3G services in 19 states and the Distrito Federal. 14 models of 3G-enabled handsets are available to customers, as well as four dongles, with monthly plans starting at BRL76.90 (USD43.94).
