Reuters reports that NTT DoCoMo has agreed with AK Khan & Co to buy its 30% stake in Bangladesh’s third largest cellco by subscribers, Aktel. The purchase, valued at approximately USD425 million, will give the Japanese giant access to one of Asia’s fastest growing mobile markets. The news agency claims that sources familiar with the matter stated that an official announcement will be made as early as next week. However, a DoCoMo spokesperson said that nothing had yet been decided.
