The Romanian cellular operator Zapp says it now has UMTS 3G network coverage in 15 cities, with another four cities to be added by the end of next month. Its 3G equipment is being supplied by ZTE of China. Zapp is set to launch its first commercial UMTS services later this year, having been awarded its 2100MHz licence back in 2006. It currently offers mobile data services over a 450MHz CDMA2000 1xEV-DO network.
