French broadband services provider Iliad (Free) says plans to roll out a mobile network via its Free Mobile unit covering 90% of the French population would not cost more than EUR1.20 billion (USD1.84 billion), reports Dow Jones. Iliad has been chasing the country’s fourth mobile concession and recently received a boost when the French government amended telecoms rules to allow for a change in the licence’s terms and conditions. Shareholders have expressed concern however, over how much Iliad would pour into the mobile venture.
