NII Holdings posts 2007 results

US-based NII Holdings, which offers iDEN-based wireless services under the name Nextel in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru, has reported its consolidated full-year results for 2007. Over the year, NII added 1.29 million subscribers to its network, a 38% increase as compared to 2006, bringing the total user base at 31 December 2007 to over 4.7 million. Operating revenues were USD3.3 billion, up 39% compared to the previous year. EBITDA reached USD924 million for 2007, up 40% year-on-year, while operating income was USD619 million, an increase of 35% over 2006. Net profit was USD378 million. During 2007, the Company expanded its network coverage to an additional nine million points of presence (PoPs). Capital expenditure (CAPEX) of USD667 million was recorded for the year.
