Vodafone is nuts about Brazil

The chief executive of UK-based mobile giant Vodafone Group, Arun Sarin, has confirmed Brazil as one of the company’s primary expansion priorities in the short term. In an interview with the Portuguese daily Diario Economico, Sarin said it was imperative that Vodafone ‘find an adequate opportunity’ to buy into the competitive Brazilian mobile market, adding that conditions are not yet right to enter the sector as a ‘greenfield’ venture. Vodafone has an agreement in place with number three operator Telecom Americas (Claro), although Sarin declined to provide details of the deal, BNamericas reports.
