French former monopoly France Telecom has made its first foray into the broadcasting realm with the launch of IPTV channel, Orange Sports TV. The new service offers sports news and TV broadcasts via the internet, direct to Orange 3G users’ mobile phones. Content is being provided by Groupe Sporever, a French firm specialising in sports-related content, and Nike and Electronic Arts have also been signed up as advertisers.
