According to BNamericas, citing local newspapers, Anatel has postponed its decision on whether to allow Telefónica to buy pay TV company TVA. The regulatory body was expected to announce its decision on 27 June, but interim president Plínio de Aguiar Júnior has requested more time to review the deal. The announcement follows petitioning from Brazil’s competitive telecommunications association Telcomp to delay the process and hold a public hearing to discuss the impact of the acquisition.
