Costa Rican telco ICE has signed a USD65 million contract with Ericsson to install 300,000 new GSM lines, writes BNamericas citing local daily El Nación. The new lines will be ready for sale by the end of the year; the contract still needs to be approved by the country’s comptroller general. ICE plans to end 2007 with a capacity for two million GSM customers. It is also planning to launch a tender offer for 1.3 million 3G lines later this year.
