Orcon heads for mobile resale

29 May 2007

New Zealand ISP Orcon has signed a wholesale deal with the country’s largest cellular operator which will allow it to launch as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO). Orcon’s says its network sharing deal with GSM provider Vodafone New Zealand will enable it to launch mobile services under its own name in October this year. The ISP currently has around 100,000 internet customers. Orcon’s general manager, Scott Bartlett, commented: ‘We know that New Zealanders are crying out for a true Kiwi-owned alternative to the incumbent providers.’
