29 Mar 2007

SK Telecom (SKT) has announced that it has launched HSDPA services across the country, two months ahead of schedule, in order to compete with KT Freetel (KTF). SKT, the country’s largest wireless carrier by revenue, has invested about KRW1.8 trillion (USD1.9 billion) in 2005/06 in rolling out the network and plans to spend an additional KRW610 billion this year. KT Freetel, the country’s second-largest mobile carrier, launched its nationwide HSDPA services in late February.
