TDC launches IPTV

6 Mar 2007

Danish incumbent telco TDC has launched a nationwide commercial IPTV service. Available to 1.6 million households, the new offering provides broadband access to 35 television channels and 200 ‘on-demand’ movies. It also features an electronic program guide and a digital recorder with a live pause feature. The service is provided over TDC’s existing DSL network and uses Microsoft’s TV IPTV Edition software platform, installed by French-US vendor Alcatel-Lucent. A press release states that subscribers will benefit from ‘an enriched entertainment experience with…the most user-friendly solution on the market’.
