Canada to auction more spectrum

The Canadian government is planning to auction 105MHz of wireless spectrum in the 2GHz frequency range in the first quarter of 2008, according to a statement released late last week. Industry Minister Maxime Bernier said that a public consultation process was being launched to ‘assist in developing a framework to foster a fair, efficient and competitive marketplace and ensure that the Canadian wireless industry remains in step with international developments.’
