Intelig picks Juniper for IP/MPLS router upgrade

29 Jan 2007

Brazilian long-distance telecoms service provider Intelig Telecom has picked US-based equipment manufacturer Juniper Networks to upgrade its IP-based multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) network, the US firm said in a statement. Under the deal Juniper will supply multiservice routing platforms that will enable the telco to consolidate its services over a core IP/MPLS network. The upgrade will also reduce operating costs and support a greater number of advanced IP services. Intelig’s IP/MPLS network already supports internet traffic and VPNs, and will soon provide VoIP and multi-play services, the company said.
