Indian telco Aircel has announced plans to deploy WiMAX networks in all 23 circles in the country. Aircel has already deployed WiMAX infrastructure in ten cities, including the four ‘metro regions’, and plans to extend coverage to an additional 24 cities this year. Aircel’s wireless access network is based on equipment supplied by Israel-based Alvarion, and its WiMAX services target small, medium and large businesses.
