The Honduran telecoms regulator, the Comision Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Conatel), has passed Resolution NR005/06 which allows for the allocation of the 450MHz band for fixed wireless access digital services. The watchdog is freeing up the 452.500MHz-457.475MHz and 462.500MHz-467.475MHz bands with the aim of providing internet access to rural areas or in areas where there is no coverage from fixed line services.
