President and worldwide CEO of Ericsson, Carl-Henric Svanberg, has spoken of his desire for the legal battle surrounding BSNL’s recent ‘mega-tender’ to be cleared up as soon as possible. ‘India is adding a record number of mobile subscribers every month. Any delay in the award of contract by BSNL will adversely affect both the company and country,’ Svanberg said. The comments come one day before a hearing is due to take place pertaining to Motorola’s appeal against the decision to award Ericsson – the lowest bidder – the largest part of the contract.
