CVG signs USD140 million series of network deals

Venezuelan telco CVG Telecom has agreed six network build contracts with Chinese equipment vendors Huawei, ZTE and Alcatel Shanghai Bell worth a total of USD140 million, reports BNamericas quoting state news agency ABN. Under the deals, Alcatel Shanghai Bell will construct a network access point, a national microwave network and a network management centre, while Huawei will provide communication infrastructure for a central transportation system and provide equipment and other services for a national broadband rollout; ZTE will deploy further broadband infrastructure. The contracts are in addition to a national fibre-optic network being installed by ZTE, and a mobile factory to be built by Huawei and CVG.
