German vendor Siemens Communications has won an agreement with leading cellco Mobitel Sudan to supply EDGE-ready 2.5G wireless infrastructure; the deal is said to be worth EUR20 million (USD25.2 million). Mobitel, owned by the MTC Group of Kuwait, had 2,201,000 subscribers at the end of June 2006, giving it an 80% market share, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database.
