Taiwan’s second largest cellular operator plans to begin selling the island’s first BlackBerry smartphones by the end of this month. Taiwan Mobile says it expects to have between 20,000 and 30,000 subscribers using the device within a year, according to a Dow Jones report. Canadian firm Research In Motion, manufacturer of BlackBerry, says Taiwan will become the 17th Asian market to launch the devices, which offer mobile e-mail access and are popular with high-usage business customers.
