NZ to get new 3G network

19 Jul 2006

TelstraClear expects to launch its first high speed mobile services next year. The firm says it will construct a HSDPA 3.5G network covering the city of Tauranga on New Zealand’s North Island before expanding the service to other areas. The telco forecasts it will be spending NZD50 million on its initial rollout. New Zealand already has two 3G networks, operated by Telecom NZ and Vodafone.
