According to BNamericas, Nextel has received authorisation from Chile’s supreme court to commence operations in the country. The ruling comes after eight years of legal disputes. An analyst for local newspaper La Segunda was quoted as saying that Nextel is likely to launch in larger cities first, including Santiago, Valparaíso, Concepción and Antofagasta. The regional trunking service provider currently offers push-to-talk services in Argentina, Mexico, Brazil and Peru, and enjoys low churn rates along with high ARPU from its predominately corporate subscribers.
