Romanian cellco MobiFon, which offers services under the Connex Vodafone banner, has announced that it has expanded 3G coverage to a total of 22 cities. Seven new cities have recently been added to its 3G footprint – Baia Mare, Satu Mare, Alba Iulia, Bistrita, Turda, Bacau and Buzau. Connex estimates its 3G subscriber base at 135,000 users, and says its W-CDMA network has population coverage of 30%.
