Vimpelcom spends to reduce churn

16 Mar 2006

Vimpelcom says it plans to spend USD150 million on its networks in the Moscow region this year compared to USD140 million in 2005. Dow Jones reports that the money will be used to improve the quality of its networks in the city and is aimed at improving customer retention rates rather than winning new users. Russia’s second largest cellular operator has 9.44 million subscribers in Moscow and around 45 million nationally.
