Filipino mobile operator Smart Communications has launched a Wi-Fi DSL service using fixed wireless technology supplied by Motorola. According to Telecompaper, Smart has spent a year trialling the vendor’s MOTOwi4 Canopy system, and completed broadband supply contracts in June 2005. Financial details were not disclosed.
