Slovak Telecom to take T-Com brand next month

16 Feb 2006

Slovakia’s former monopoly fixed line operator, Slovak Telecom, will begin providing its wireline services under its owner Deutsche Telekom’s brand name, T-Com, as of 8 March. Slovak Telecom is owned by Deutsche Telekom (51%), the Ministry of Transport, Posts and Telecommunications (34%) and the National Property Fund of the Slovak Republic (15%). The telco’s 100%-owned wireless division changed its name from EuroTel to T-Mobile Slovensko in May 2005 as part of a plan by the German heavyweight to bring all its European mobile assets under the T-Mobile brand.
