Telekom Slovenije protests local loop ruling

7 Feb 2006

Slovenia’s national telco Telekom Slovenije will appeal to the country’s Economics Ministry against rulings by the Post and Electronic Communications Agency on pricing of access to its local loops. The ruling requires Telekom to reduce its local loop access prices by between 13% and 48%, which Telekom claims would prevent it from covering its costs. It also alleges that the ruling is illegal, as the regulator does not have the power to annul parts of a pricing scheme and determine prices on its own.
