DoCoMo consolidates top spot in mobile market with 50.3 million subscribers

NTT DoCoMo added 251,000 subscribers in December to lift its total subscriber base to over 50.3 million, ahead of second placed operator KDDI which signed up 348,300 new customers, raising its total subscriber base to over 21.5 million. As reported yesterday, Vodafone KK lost ground in the 2G market, but gained 236,800 W-CDMA subscribers to take its total subscriber base to over 15.1 million at end-December.
