Chinese equipment manufacturer ZTE is in talks with Indian state-run telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) to set up a joint venture to produce CDMA handsets and fixed wireless switching equipment. According to a report in India’s Business Standard, ZTE and BSNL are planning to set up a 50/50 partnership which will initially make one million CDMA phones in BSNL’s Calcutta plant.
