The Greek Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has presented new telecoms legislation to the government. The new legislation is aimed at transposing EU directives into national law, with the aim of promoting competition through price reductions and expanded consumer choice. The main points of the legislation include the introduction of a simplified licensing procedure and general directives for radio frequencies, as well as the promotion of broadband investment through adequate regulation of network access. The MTC is also looking to install faster procedures for resolving disputes between regulator, the National Telecommunications Commission, and operators. The legislation will be submitted to parliament for approval in the next few days
