Mobile operators to bill in smaller blocks

23 Sep 2005

Vietnam’s fourth largest cellco, S-Fone, has announced it will change its billing system as of October, effectively lowering its call charges. The South Korean-backed CDMA operator said yesterday that it would switch to billing calls in six-second blocks, rather than the current ten-second blocks. The announcement comes just a few days after the country’s two largest mobile operators, Vinaphone and MobiFone, switched to billing in six-second blocks from their previous system based on 30-second blocks.
