Spanish broadband operator Iberbanda says it has completed commercial trials of WiMAX technology. The company now plans to launch its first services before the end of the year, offering broadband internet access and VoIP telephony with bandwidth of up to 10Mbps in areas not currently covered by fixed broadband technologies such as ADSL. The trials were conducted in the Almeria region of Andalucia in southern Spain.
