WiMAX licence holder announces investment plans

One of Slovakia’s broadband fixed wireless access (BFWA) 3.5GHz band licence holders, WiMAX Telecom Slovakia, has announced plans to spend EUR10 million to build out the first phase of its broadband network in the country The newcomer wants to deploy base stations for all county capitals in Slovakia by mid-2006, at which time it estimates that its services will be available to 20% of the population. It hopes to achieve coverage of 60% of the population by end-2007.
