PLDT strikes Wi-Fi roaming deals

Philippine Long Distance Telecommunications (PLDT)’s IT unit, ePLDT, has closed a number of deals with Asia-Pacific telcos to roll out wireless broadband (Wi-Fi) roaming coverage in the region. ePLDT will provide Wi-Fi coverage to Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, the US and Japan in cooperation with Maxis, StarHub, Hong Kong CSL, T-Mobile USA and NTT Communications. It also plans to strike similar deals with KT Corp of South Korea, and True Corp of Thailand.
