Vodafone has announced that the launch of 3G mobile services in New Zealand will take place this week. In a brief email statement, the company confirmed Wednesday’s launch date and promised to provide more details at that time. Vodafone’s UMTS service has been dogged by delay. It was initially slated for launch in March, and was later postponed to July. Last month the company said it expected to start commercial operations in competition with rival Telecom sometime between July and November.
