LaqTel awards Nortel USD50 million wireless broadband contract

LaqTel, a start-up telco based in Trinidad & Tobago, has contracted Canadian vendor Nortel Networks to install a USD50 million CDMA2000 1xEV-DO wireless network. The network is due to be finished by the end of the year, and will enable LaqTel to offer wireless broadband services to residential and business customers on the islands.
